Shooting with Don Wildman from Offlimits

Hello my friends,

Been a bit busy, but enough about that. Wanted to let you know new Travel Channel photography is coming out soon! I got the great opportunity to do a second shoot with the wonder Don Wildman from out show called Offlimits (premieres soon ::wink::). We shot at this AMAZING location on Long Island City called The Foundry and I instantly fell in love with it (as did Don and I with their insanely cute "guard dog", sadly not pictures). The dog made us go over our shoot time, but I think it was worth it. Still waiting on Don't approval from the images, but I wanted to give you a "sneak peek" of what's to come!

ps - funniest guy ever.

Off to Austin & SxSW

On my last day in NYC before heading to Austin, I was sent the following video, which reminds me of how tiny we all are in this huge city.

The Sandpit from Sam O'Hare on Vimeo.

It's beautiful and amusing, with all of its tilt-shift fun. Reminds me of a Richard Scary Book, where you get to look into a factory of how bread is made :)

I love this city and continually get a warm, fuzzy feeling inside of me whenever I think of Brooklyn and my home, but I'm excited to get away for a few days.

I mean, it's SxSW! Who wouldn't be excited?! :)

The Photography Post : A New Photo Aggregation Site

Hey fellow art-lovers and trollers of the interwebs; Do I have a treat for you! Launched not but 2 days ago, The Photography Post is a pretty amazing little site that brings users all of the latest and most interesting photographic projects from across the internet onto one site! TPP doesn't discriminate between solid new source or causal side blog; all they are looking to do it find the pulse of photography on the world wide wed. It's REALLY cool. So far it's turned me on to a ton of interesting sites I had no idea existed before, like Ads of the World, which showcases some of the weirdest and most visually striking ads that we in America would never get to see.

Thanks, internet!

[video] Love Language - Sparxx @Lauromatinee

I lost all of my bookmarks for about 2 months (poor crashed computer) but have sudden been able to recover them!! Yay!! This lead me to a lot undiscovered, great music content that smaller sites have posted over those 2 months. Hence, this video!

Makes me says, "keeeewl!" Especially since I haven't listened to the Love Language in ages.

Inaugural 13.1 New York Race -- April 3, 2010

I have a new race on the horizon, and this time it's in Queens! I'm thinking I should make it a goal to run a half in every borough, and then run the NYC Marathon afterwards Talk about seeing the sites; and I'll most probably never want to run in NYC again after it, ha.

Part of the national 13.1 race series (which has already established races in Fort Launderdale, LA, Chicago and Boston), this half-marathon is the first of its kind, looping through Flushing Meadows Park and around it's many fountains, stadiums and the always visually stimulating Unisphere.

Here's the course map:

They claim that there is a party associated with this race, though no details have been posted yet. I'm looking forward to it!

Today, I...

...met a llama during a random parade on Graham Avenue and Metropolitan...

...and his friendly camel acquaintance...

...ran into the end celebration of Improv Everywhere's No Pants Subway Ride at Union Square... ::UPDATE:: More photos here!

...with some of the pant-less participants dancing away over our heads...

...and learned Moleskins are super cheap at the Strand!!

I also got to the gym for the 4th straight time in a row that I intended!!
Excellent Sunday.

Brooklyn Flea - One Hanson Place

The Brooklyn Fleas has moved for the next 14 weekends to One Hanson Place, just around the corner from BAM and across from the Atlantic LIRR terminal. It's gorgeous!! And as always, there is plenty to buy and plenty to eat.

Crab claws, creepy broken babies...

... and flannel for all!

[video] 50 People, One Question: "PostSecret: Confessions on Life, Death and God"

I love these videos so much. Based in Brooklyn. Such simple insight into the human mind. The video is produced in tandem with PostSecret, which is an ongoing community art project where people mail in their secrets anonymously on one side of a postcard.

"What is your secret?"

NPR - Tiny Desk Concert: The Avett Brothers

I had never heard of these Tiny Desk Concerts produced by NPR before today, and I'm already in love. Oh, how I so wish we could do this where I work.! Live music, right next to my desk, making my work go so much smoother... Le Sigh... The worst of phone calls could be soothed over! Rivals could work together as BFF! Raises for all! (Ok, maybe I went too far). Still, please watch and adore, as I am doing right now. Keep the video open behind your work, and pretend The Avett Brothers are right there with you, getting you through the day :)

ps - Avett Brothers just released a new CD, I AND LOVE AND YOU. Lovely!
